In 1989, Monika was a Student Leader, and subsequently Diplomat and Cultural Attaché in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Embassy in Paris and in the Council of Europe in the Cultural Committee in Strasbourg. She was also Head of the Press Dept. and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the headquarters in Prague.

Monika has published articles and books on various cultural topics, the European Union, and a personal diary from the 1980s and early years following the Velvet Revolution in 1989. She is married to Peter MacDonagh, an Irish historian, with whom she has two children and two grandchildren.

Late 20th-century transition to democracy in Central and Eastern Europe, impact of Nazism and Communism on later democratic societies, Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy, especially concerning the relationship between the European Union and the United States of America.

Dr. Angel Hoekstra is an American, a Christian, a wife, mother, sister, friend, and sociology professor. She taught for ten years at the University of Colorado in Boulder before moving to Prague in 2016. Karen Grunow-Hårsta, PhD, serves as senior lecturer of the School of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences at . She earned her PhD in Linguistics from UWM (Milwaukee), where she also taught for five years. Grunow-Hårsta has likewise taught and conducted research at Uppsala University, Sweden; Brock University, Canada; Middlesex and Wollongong Universities in Dubai; and at the Chinese University and Polytechnical University in Hong Kong as a postdoctoral fellow. She also holds an. M.A. in Art History and undergraduate degrees in literature and education.

Josh Hayden earned his doctorate in higher education leadership and policy from Vanderbilt University in the U.S. and has published and taught in the field of leadership studies for the past ten years. His research interests are Václav Havel’s moral leadership, leadership ethics and change, self-awareness, and adaptive leadership theory and practice. Josh led the Quality Enhancement Plan on Scholarship, Learning, and Academic Mentoring at Cumberland University and built executive education leadership programs at Lipscomb University, both in Nashville, Tennessee. He has worked with community, educational and organizational leaders in Haiti, India, Kazakhstan, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Brazil.

His wife and 4 children love the outdoors, the arts, sports, traveling, and he plays the banjo in his spare time.
