Jiří has been active in research and teaching since 2009, primarily at the Institute of Economic Studies, Charles University, where he also earned his Ph.D. in Economics. Alongside his academic career, he has gained significant policy experience at the Czech National Bank, serving as advisor to several members of the Bank Board, including the Deputy Governor.

His research focuses on international economics, finance, monetary policy, and institutional economics. He has published in internationally recognized journals such as the Journal of International Economics and the Review of World Economics. According to the Research Papers in Economics (RePEc) ranking, he is among the top 50 Czech economists in terms of publications over the past decade.

From 2023 to 2025, Jiří served as principal investigator of the grant project Survey of Short-Term and Long-Term Inflation Expectations of Czech Households (TQ01000396), funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, with Charles University and the Czech National Bank as co-investigators. He is also a co-investigator on two Czech Science Foundation (GAÄŒR) projects: Disentangling p-hacking from publication bias in finance research (24-11583S, with Charles University as principal investigator) and Understanding Household Responses to Inflation: Insights from Randomized Controlled Trials after High Inflation (25-17769S, with the Czech Academy of Sciences as principal investigator).

Outside of his professional work, Jiří is a father of two young children. In rare quiet moments, he enjoys reading fantasy literature and playing video games.

Katerina has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Taxation and a master’s degree in Finance and Accounting (both earned at the University of Economics in Prague). She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (level I- 3).

She started her career as the assistent of the auditor in BDO. Later she worked as the project manager in the international investment company EPIC for 16 years.   She was engaged in various activities related to investment banking and capital investments incl. advisory services to a number of companies. At the moment she teaches in Undergraduate, Master’s and MBA programs.

Born in Toronto, Canada, and a graduate of the Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Montreal, and the University of Leicester, David has been lecturing in Prague since 2004. His work experience includes work in Retail, 12 years of banking experience, 9 years as a financial analyst with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and a year as National Credit Manager for the Retail Operations of Canada Post. He teaches in Undergraduate, Master’s and MBA programs. Since 2013, he has been a regular participant in the IFRS conference at ¹ú²úÂÒÂ×. He lives in Velka Dobra with his wife.
